Carlentini si trova in Sicilia, in provincia di Siracusa, città dalla quale dista circa 40 Km. Il suo territorio comprende la frazione di Pedagaggi, è esteso 158 Kmq. ed è attraversato dal fiume San Leonardo e dai torrenti Damiano, Mulinello e Orto Gallo. Ha un'altitudine massima di 869 m. E' anche vicina alla città di Catania, dalla quale dista circa 30 Km. Con il più recente sviluppo demografico, l'abitato si è praticamente congiunto a quello di Lentini. Non esiste oggi, infatti, alcuna soluzione di continuità tra i due centri. Chi sbarca a Catania in aereo, nell'Aeroporto Internazionale Fontanarossa, può raggiungere Carentini in circa 25 minuti attraverso la strada statale Catania-Siracusa, sia in auto che in pullman. La città è anche facilmente raggiungibile in treno da Catania e da Siracusa, essendovi a Lentini una stazione ferroviaria. Carlentini ha lo sbocco a mare sia nella spiaggia di Agnone Bagni, che nella costa di Castelluccio, dalle quali dista rispettivamente circa 6 e 10 Km. Come è scritto nel Grande Dizionario Enciclopedico dell'UTET, gli aranceti, che costituiscono la principale attività economica del tringolo agrumicolo (Carlentini, Lentini e Francofonte) danno frutti assai pregiati. Conta circa 20.000 abitanti. Negli ultimi anni vi è stato un incremento della popolazione, perchè, essendosi espansa Lentini verso il territorio confinante di Carlentini, molti lentinesi risultano residenti a Carlentini nella zona denominata Santuzzi.
